All studio equipment is available for use and Firing options are available for an extra cost- listed below. A different firing option will be made available each month so you continue your learning journey and experience a wide range of ceramic possibilities.

Workshop Description

Join us at Naturemuse Ceramic Studio for our monthly Makerspace.

Bring your inspirations, ideas and special materials and join in a community making session. You will have access to studio equipment such as Pottery Wheels, Slab roller, Extruder, kilns, etc to assist your current project. We will provide a standard range of clays for your use on the day (including the in-house Naturemuse recycled blend!).

During this session you have access to the great range of Naturemuse Studio glazes and firing is available at a set fee per kilo of work. Glazes available for all firings or feel free to use your own and fire with us (on discussion with Fiona to ensure suitability and firing range).

Each month we will be doing a community firing, rotating between Electric, Raku, Gas reduction and Pit Firing. A communal wood firing is also scheduled 2-3 times per year. See firing schedules below:

*Standard clay and glaze included in your Makerspace contribution.

Bisque firing: $10 per kilo

Electric firing- midfire/ 1220 deg: $12 per kilo

Raku firing: $12 per kilo (space limitted)

Pit firing: no charge, BYO combustable materials eg. seaweed, manure

Gas reduction firing- 1220-1300 deg: $15 per kilo (space limitted)

Woodfiring- 1220-1300 deg: $25 per kilo (space extremely limited)

Available for all skill levels, skill sharing is a valued currency here at Naturemuse Ceramic Studio.

Next Steps

Once you’ve secured your spot, in addition to your tax receipt, you’ll receive an email from Fiona acknowledging your registration.

If you haven’t received the confirmation email within a couple of hours of your purchase, please check your junk mail.

Fiona will be in contact a week before classes start to provide you with instructions and what to bring.

Booking T&Cs

When you purchase a ticket, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Cancellations made with more than 7 working days in advance of the event start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made with less than 7 working days to the training start date will not be eligible for a refund of any kind. Class sizes are kept small to optimise your experience and we ask that you are clear about your dates please. Due to small class sizes and the specialised equipment required, we cannot offer make-up sessions if any classes are missed within your workshop timeframe.
  • You may transfer your registration to another one of our scheduled Workshops in the same calendar year (pending availability) any time before 7 working days of the event; you will not be entitled to a refund for the difference.

Prerequisites required; Ceramic Glazing 101 & Wheel Throw workshop must be completed.
